Companionship and home help

Silverstar PA Care offers companionship and home help across East Cheshire. The visit is in your own house. This is not a care home, and it is not clinical treatment.

  • Personal care: getting up, dressing, grooming, and moving around safely
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Meals, shopping, and errands
  • Appointments and days out, including a wheelchair when that is part of the day
  • Help taking medicine a doctor has already prescribed. We do not supply the medicine or decide the dose
  • Company and prompting when someone is living with dementia or Parkinson's. Not clinical treatment

A dedicated personal assistant, for two hours at a time. Every visit is planned around what you want, need, and wish for at home.

This suits someone who wants companionship, help getting up and keeping the house, meals, appointments, or company on social outings and errands.

You are matched after a free home consultation. If the match is not right, we find a better fit at no additional cost. The fuller account is on What we do.

What we do

Why families choose
Silverstar PA Care

Silverstar PA Care matches you with one dedicated personal assistant. Aside from holidays or illness, that is who arrives. Visits last a two-hour minimum, so there is time to settle in, share company, and still get practical help done.

Two hours is enough for planned support: companionship at home, getting up and dressing, light housekeeping, meals, diary and appointment support, agreed errands, or a social outing. Staff do not wear a uniform. The visit stays discreet. If the personal assistant is not the right match, we find a better fit at no additional cost.

Families also use this model when someone is living with dementia or Parkinson's. The work is company, prompting, and home help, not clinical treatment.

The plan follows what you want at home. A quote follows a free home consultation.

How is Silverstar PA Care different?

What is the difference between a personal assistant and a carer?

More questions Fewer questions
Why do you have a two-hour minimum visit?

A two-hour visit gives time to settle in, share company, help with practical household tasks, support an appointment, run agreed errands, or go on a social outing without cutting the visit short.

Will I have the same personal assistant every time?

Yes. You are matched with one dedicated personal assistant. Aside from holidays or illness, that is who arrives. Continuity is the point of the service.

Do your staff wear uniforms?

No. Personal assistants wear regular, smart clothing. That keeps outings and appointments discreet, whether you are running errands, attending a doctor appointment, or going for lunch.

Services and medical support

Can you help with medicine?

We do not supply medicine. We can help a person take medicine a doctor has already prescribed. We do not decide the dose and we do not provide clinical treatment.

Do you support people living with dementia or Parkinson's?

Yes. Families use the dedicated personal assistant model for companionship, prompting, and home help when someone is living with dementia or Parkinson's. The work is company and practical support, not clinical treatment.

What areas do you cover?

Which areas around Macclesfield do you cover?

The places around Macclesfield that we visit are named on the Macclesfield page, under Support across Macclesfield. The same dedicated personal assistant and two-hour minimum apply.

Can a personal assistant drive me to appointments or social outings?

Yes. Personal assistants can drive their own car or yours, with business motor cover in place, for agreed appointments, family visits, day trips, or shopping.

Costs, booking and safety

Why are your prices not listed on the website?

Needs, schedules, and support routines differ from person to person. A free home consultation comes first. We visit you at home, then provide a clear quote. We do not publish hourly rates on this site.

Do you accept council or NHS funding?

Most clients pay privately. Our model is a dedicated personal assistant on a two-hour minimum, which does not always fit short-visit funding rates.

How do you vet and train your personal assistants?

Every personal assistant completes an Enhanced DBS check, holds the Care Certificate, and completes yearly refreshers in safeguarding, prescribed medicine, and moving and handling. Founder Jacqueline Silvester oversees those standards. We do not supply medicine. We can help a person take medicine a doctor has already prescribed. We do not decide the dose and we do not provide clinical treatment.

How do we get started?

Request a free home consultation, call us, or use the contact form. We visit you at home to talk through what support would help, then provide a clear quote.

Can a family member arrange the first visit?

Yes. A family member can request the free home consultation. We visit the house, talk through the support, and send a quote after that visit. The person is matched with one dedicated personal assistant.
